Blithely Bookish Reviews (that's me)
has been up and running for over a year now, and believe it or not, I've never held a contest!

Alas, it's true! I can hear your gasps of disbelief and your scornful murmurings. But fear not, dear friends, loved ones and people who just like winning free books, because I've seen the error of my blogging ways! Never again will I have to hang my head in shame!
I can now stand tall and proud amongst the best of you!

When I realized the need to atone for my failure as a blogger, I knew I'd have to go with something super awesome in order to earn your forgiveness, and so it took me no time at all to decide which book I'd be offering!!

So, without further ado, I bring to you my

  First Ever Blog Giveaway!!!!!!!!

Those of you who know me know that I am a die-hard Pamela Clare fan! That woman can write anything and make it romantic, exciting and very sexy! Whether she's sending her hot, hunky Highlanders off to fight in the French and Indian War, building ships in Colonial Virginia or taking down modern day slave traffickers and drug cartels, there is nothing she can't write and make it all kinds of awesome!

Her most recent book release is actually a re-release of Surrender, the first in the MacKinnon's Rangers series, with additional scenes that had been cut by her original publisher. It's been a dream of Pamela's to be able to see her beloved Highlander's stories published the way she had intended them to be told! Now that her dream is finally coming true, we're going to help her celebrate!

What I'm Giving Away

1st prize:

1. Your choice of a signed (by Pamela Clare, not me)  paperback copy of the new version of Surrender, or an ebook copy from either Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
2. An ebook copy of the new version of Untamed, the second book in the MacKinnon's Rangers series which will be released in January.
3. A $5.00 Starbucks gift card.

 2nd prize:

1. An ebook copy of Surrender.
2. An ebook copy of Untamed when it's released.

3rd prize:

1. An ebook copy of Surrender

To enter this contest you must:

1. Be a follower of this blog.
2. Leave a comment telling me about your favorite genre, and whether or not you're a long time historical romance fan or if you're a newbie!
3. Include your name, and a way I can get in touch with you should you win.

Rules (Come on, you knew there had to be some)

1. This is an International giveaway. Anyone can enter as long as Amazon and Barnes & Noble will allow me to send the ebooks to you.
2. Names will be drawn at random on December 24th,  using the most sophisticated non-technical means available. Each name will be written on a piece of paper, and placed into a Santa hat, from which my oldest grandsons, blindfolded, will each draw a name. (I can’t let the 1 year old draw because he’d eat the paper before we would have a chance to read the names. Maybe next year.)
3. The winners must provide me with their email address, the one associated with their Amazon or Barnes & Noble accounts so that the ebooks can be correctly gifted to your account. If you win the signed paperback, you must provide me with a physical address so that the book can be mailed to you.

So that's it! Please Tweet, Re-Tweet, Blog or shout from the rooftops about this contest!

Good luck, everyone!!

Oh! This just in! My very sweet friend, Jayne, is having a Pamela Clare giveaway, too! After you've entered here, be sure to head over to Lady Jayne's Reading Den and comment there for another chance to win a copy of Untamed.

  1. I have read all of Pamela Clare's contemporaries as I found her this year but have not read any of her historicals. I used to read a lot of historicals but got away from them this year with more contemporaries and romantice suspense. Thinking I should start reading some of her historical romances soon.

  2. I usually read Paranormal but I do have a weakness for those Sexy Highlanders. I am a Newbie to Historicle Romance, but would be xcited to read a new Author and Genre.

  5. I'm a big fan of historicals. They were the first romance books I read and I still read a lot of them even though I like to read nearly all genres of romance now. But historicals are still my first love! :)
    Thank you for the contest!

  7. I'm a Pamela Clare virgin! At this point in time I'm really into sci-fi romance, second paranormal romance and then a tie between contemporary romance and historical romance, with a very broad definition of romance.

Have fun Christmas eve with the contest! I'm at carolynferrero@gmail.com.

  9. I read lots of historical & romantic suspense. Probably more romantic suspense than anything else. But with the exception of a couple of genres/subgenres I'll read anything that has romance & a HEA. I am a huge Pamela Clare fan also. I love ALL of her books & can't wait to read the new ones.

  13. I am somewhat of a newbie to historical. I've read one or two but that was a long time ago. I mostly read romantic suspense and romance with a military spin. But like Tonya said, I'll read just about anything with romance and a HEA.

I started out with paranormal romance and then branched out my love onto historical romance and contemporary romantic suspense. I love any book with a good love story at its center!

Romantic suspense is probably my favorite genre, but I love paranormal romance, urban fantasy, YA and historical. :)

  23. I discovered Romance by way of a contemporary which I chose for it's "mystery". That is I was a confirmed Mystery reader, no interest in Romance of any sort, "NEVER read Romance" I swore. I found a humorous story, and fell in love with a new genre. My favorites are Historical. I love the Regency best, but also enjoy most of the 1700's and onward. I've been an anglophile since I was in my teens as a Beatlemaniac, loved the British manor house mysteries, etc. I feel a special bond with the McKinnon's. I am certain they were from the same clan. Pamela Clare has opened my eyes to our early American history and I have been awaiting the next Ranger book for years! I'd love winning anything she writes.
    Merry Christmas to everyone.

  24. Hi everyone!

Thanks for all the great comments!!

I had been reading any Highlander stories that I could get my hands on, and a friend told me to check out Pamela Clare's Highlanders, and I swear, I wasn't 1/2 way through the book and I ordered her entire backlist! When I say that she can write anything and make me love it, I'm not kidding!

Historical Romance is my first true love, but I can get behind Romantic Suspense heroes, too... Behind them, in front of them, on top.... ummm... sorry... where was I?

    Oh yes!

I'm very excited to be offering these books, and I'm thrilled to see that you all are, too!

    Good luck everyone!!!

  25. Hi dear friend, Just dropping by to say AWESOME first Giveaway!!! You know I love Pamela Clare, too. And I think your blog and reviews are awesome, too!

It was Judith McNaught's books that got me into Historical Romances and I've loved this genre for a long time. But I also love Romantic Suspense (another forte of Pamela Clare's) and Paranormal Romance.

    BTW, this:

"Historical Romance is my first true love, but I can get behind Romantic Suspense heroes, too... Behind them, in front of them, on top.... ummm... sorry... where was I?"

    LOL! Me, too!!! ^_^

    Happy First Giveaway, sweetie!!!

  27. Thanks for running this contest! Historical romance and mystery romance are my two favorite genres, which makes Pamela Clare the perfect author for me! I've read all the I-Team books and the original version of Surrender. Looking forward to reading the newly tweaked McKinnon's series from the beginning! ~Rach

  28. My favorite genre is historical romance (of course!) I've just fallen in love with books (romance esp.) in 2010. And that was all because of historical romance (Lisa Kleypas). I've tried some of other authors, and I turned to be in love, and not a fan of other authors.
Honestly, I haven't read Pamela Clare's book, but I've already heard many positive recommendations! So, can't wait!

  33. It seems that many of us are historical romance lovers!

Do you remember your first "adult" book? My first grown up read was Love Story. I was in the 6th grade, and my great grandmother apparently thought I was too young to be reading that "pornography." She yelled and screamed and tore the pages out of the book! LOL!!

Though looking back on it, she might have been right about me being too young.
