Rock Chick Revolution by Kristen Ashley

CONTEST NOW CLOSED

Ally Nightingale has secrets. Secrets she doesn't even share with the Rock Chicks. But two men know what she's up to. One has her back. The other has her heart, but he doesn't know it.

As Ally rewinds the last year of her life, she knows two things. One, she’s never going to get what every Rock Chick should have—her own Hot Bunch guy. And two, she’s a Nightingale through and through. She just isn’t sure what to do about that.

But as her secrets are revealed, the men in her life react. Darius Tucker, a lifelong friend, as usual takes her back. Ren Zano, the man she loves, isn’t quite so sure. The Rock Chicks, Hot Bunch and the entire gang at Fortnum’s weigh in, and a Rock Chick Revolution starts brewing.

It’s up to Ally to control it and prove what she knows down to her bones.

She’s a Rock Chick, she deserves her hot guy and she’s going to keep the one she wants…

Because she’s a Nightingale

Re-read Review, September 4-5, 2013.

Yes, I've already done a re-read of this story as part of my Rock Chick Series Re-read Review Celebration and Giveaway on my blog! See, I loved Revolution so much that I decided to re-read the first 7, then when I finished them I just kept on reading through 8 again! What does that tell you about how much I love this book?

Just sayin'... 'nuf said.

Original Review -

Exciting, funny, sexy, quirky... 5 Rock Chick RIGHTEOUS stars!!

"Because, no matter how old we get, we always need to believe in fairytales."

I adore Kristen Ashley’s stories. They’re fun, sexy, heartfelt, thought provoking, and you can tell that they come from a place of truth. Each and every one has become a favorite, for different reasons. Some grab my heart because they’re poignant, others because they’re romantic. Some set my imagination free, while others ground me and make me feel solid. I love that regardless of the tale she’s telling, she can pull me in, have me connect with the characters – who never feel like characters, by the way – and keep me turning the pages into the wee hours of the morning. And such is the case with this story.

Rock Chick Revolution is the eighth and final book in Kristen Ashley’s totally awesome Rock Chick series, and the story most of us hard-core fans have been waiting for. From their first encounter in Rock Chick Revenge when Ally gets in Ren’s face to make him step back from the fight between he and Luke – over Ava, no less – you just know these two will end up together and that they’ll push at each other, pull at each other, drive each other insane and burn up the sheets together. And man, oh, man, do they ever!

“Revolution” in the title is very apt, for a couple of reasons. One being that the story of the Rock Chicks and the Hot Bunch has come full circle. But while reading this story I couldn’t help but connect that word to what was happening in the Rock Chick world – a revolution of sorts. I’ve always seen Ally as a wild card. The one you could never totally read. Like the rest of the Rock Chicks, she’s a girl who knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to get it. That said, what Ally wants is HUGE and is going to upset the Hot Bunch apple cart in a big way, and cause a revolution of epic proportions. And that’s all I’ll say about that.

There are some very cool twists. Some totally awesome turns. Things you may have never seen coming, but when they come, you can’t help but smile, and I mean smile in a way that comes from deep inside. "Because, no matter how old we get, we always need to believe in fairytales."

Oh, and one last thing - you know that saying, when one door closes, another opens, so an ending is just a beginning?

Yeah. That.

Just sayin'...

Ava hates men, she has reason and she’s vowed not only never to get involved with another one again but also to exact vengeance on her best friend’s, lying, cheating husband. Since Luke, Ava’s childhood crush, is now a private investigator, she thinks to enlist him but changes her mind at the last second.

Too late, Luke knows she’s up to something and he’s already seen many a Rock Chick try to fight her own battles without the Hot Bunch stepping in. He’s having none of it. She’s having none of him. The clash of the Rock Chick and Hot Guy begins but Luke’s got the advantage. He has handcuffs and he’s not afraid to use them.

Re-read Review - August 28-29, 2013.

I've had trouble picking my "favorite" Hot Bunch hero, but after my re-read of the first 5 books, I can say, without a doubt, that Luke is the one. Of all the men so far, he's the most similar to the men of the Colorado Mountain series, and I adore them! Luke is super bad-ass Alpha - yes, with a capital A - and he's the most crude and outspoken and intensely sexual of them all. And that right there, my friends, is why I'm in love with him, and why he's numero uno, comprende? Hidden Treasure: The first person to type the word "Comprende" in the comment box below wins an ecopy, their choice, of any Kristen Ashley book.

I fell hard for Ava, again. Such a sweetie. I just adore her, and she and Luke together are perfect!

Such a great story, start to finish!

Original Review:

Those of you who read my reviews know that I normally go on for paragraphs, close to chapters… except when it comes to Kristen Ashley books. The reason for that is twofold…

1. There are just soooo many things to love about her awesome books that I can’t seem to do them justice, even if I ramble on for pages.

2. There are already a bjillion reviews out there, all singing her praises, so I’m doing you a favor by not making you sit through one of mine... not for too long, anyway.

That’s why I keep ‘em short. So here goes…

Ava: ADORE her!

Luke: Abso-fecking-lutely in love with him!

The Story: All kinds of awesome.

Lot's of extra time with other Rock Chicks and Hot Bunch guys. LOVE THAT!!

Secondary Characters: They don’t feel secondary, ever. I love each and every one of them and unlike some books, they never, ever, EVER feel like filler.

So that’s why I love this book, and why you, if you haven’t already, need to climb on the Kristen Ashley train!

Woot! Woot! ROCK ON!

Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley Blog Tour and Giveaway!!

Lanie Heron isn’t looking for love—no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club...

For Hop, Lanie has always been untouchable. She’s too polished and too classy for his tastes. But when she gives Hop the once-over with her bedroom eyes and offers him a night in paradise, he can’t say no. And he doesn’t regret it when he finds that Lanie is the best thing that’s ever happened to him—in or out of bed. Now the trick will be to convince her of that.

*****

No matter how many Kristen Ashley books I read - and I've read a lot - I'm ALWAYS left anxiously awaiting the next story, regardless of the genre or series. Such was the case with Hop and Lanie's story in Fire Inside... and this despite the drama that surrounds them and their turbulant pasts. I know you'll get me when I say that, start to finish, this is one hell of an emotional ride! And the epilogue? Typical Kristen Ashley brilliance! I'm still grinning from ear to ear!!!  Read it and you'll feel it, too!

Nightfall by Norah Wilson

Nightfall is the second installment of Norah Wilson’s A Vampire Romance series, and the war against the rogue vampires who are preying on the less fortunate among us, continues. The homeless, the drug addicts, the prostitutes… anyone who won’t be missed if they don’t come home at night are especially vulnerable, but in this book we’re introduced to another unique player in the battle, Samantha Shea, whose ability promises to make a big dent in the rogue vampire population.

Our hot, sexy hunter is Aiden Afflack--
“Sorry, you said Affleck? Like Ben Affleck?”

“No, not like Ben. It’s Afflack with an A, like the duck says.”

Yeah, and he was cute and harmless as that duck. Right.
**clears throat** – as I was saying, Aiden Afflack is a vampire hunter and one of the best there is, but there’s something about him that, when he’s near Sam Shea, kicks her ability into overdrive and turns them into an unstoppable team. From the start there's an attraction between them that can't be denied, and fortunately for Aiden and Sam - and us - they don't bother trying.

The bottom line - Nightfall is not only exciting and romantic, but burn up the pages hot. Aiden is one of the sexiest vampires I've read in a long time, and he made the story for me. If Sam ever decides she doesn't want him anymore... oh, baby... six ways to Sunday... just sayin'...

A few minor editing issues kept this from being a solid 5 stars, but I'm giving it 4.5/5 stars because I fell so hard for Aiden.

I'm so happy the author offered these books to me for review, and can't wait to read more in this series. Eli's story. Or RJ's... are you listening Ms. Wilson?
